Grayling offers the opportunity for adventure all year round! In the spring, summer, and fall, Grayling offers areas for hiking, biking, golfing, and disc golfing. With both the Manistee River and the AuSable River running through the area, fishing, kayaking, and canoeing are three major activities. In the winter, Grayling offers sledding, snowboarding, tubing, and downhill skiing. 70% of the land in Grayling is either owned by the state or federal government, which allows for the construction of many trails that are kept well groomed. These trails are not only good for hiking and biking, but they’re also great for winter sports such as cross-country skiing, skijoring, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling.

If you’re not the outdoorsy type, Grayling is also rich with history, with several historical sites such as Hartwick Pines State Park, the Crawford County Historical Museum, Wellington Farm Park, Lovell’s Historical Society, W.J. Beal Tree Planting, and the Grayling Fish Hatchery.

The Crawford AuSable School District has been rated as some of the highest ranked schools by the Michigan Department of Education.
